Reactor Kettle Melt Gear Pump

The reactor melt gear pump is a precision device specifically designed for conveying high-viscosity fluids, widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, food, and polymer material processing industries. Its core function involves achieving stable conveyance, pressurization, and metering of melts through volumetric changes generated by gear meshing. Compared to standard gear pumps, its design must withstand high temperatures (typically exceeding 300°C), high pressures (up to 30 MPa), and corrosive media. Materials commonly include special alloys (such as 316L stainless steel) or undergo surface hardening treatments.

Working Principle and Structural Features

Gear Design: Features involute or arc-shaped teeth. Dual gears (drive/driven) engage in strict synchronization to form sealed cavities. High-precision machining (tolerance ≤5μm) ensures low leakage rates.

Temperature Control System: Integrates heating jackets or electric heating elements with PID temperature control technology to maintain stable melt viscosity.

Sealing Technology: Utilizes mechanical seals or magnetic coupling seals to prevent melt leakage. For example, silicon carbide mechanical seals withstand temperatures up to 400°C.

Key Performance Parameters

Flow Range: 0.1~500 L/min, pulsation rate <±1% (optimized via gear profiling).

Pressure Rating: Categorized by operating conditions: 10 MPa (standard), 20 MPa (high-pressure), etc.

Power Configuration: Variable frequency motor + gear reducer combination enables stepless speed adjustment from 0.1 to 100 rpm.

Industry Application Cases

Polymerization: In PET polycondensation reactions, the pump conveys melt to spinning components with flow fluctuations <0.5%.

Food Industry: For chocolate transfer, gear pumps must comply with FDA standards and feature mirror polishing (Ra ≤ 0.2μm).

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Routine Maintenance: Replace high-temperature grease every 500 hours and inspect gear backlash (standard range: 0.05–0.1 mm).

Common Issues: If flow rate decreases, investigate gear wear or clogged inlet filter (recommended mesh size ≥40 mesh).
